Taiwanese automaker Luxgen's long-running U6 SUV has sold out and been dropped from the official website. The United Daily News said the model, which once sold more than 2,200 units a month, was overtaken by rivals because it never got a major redesign or mainstream active-safety features.
The United Daily News auto section reported that the Luxgen U6 has formally sold out and no longer appears on the brand's website. The final clearance price was NT$759,000. The car was once the brand's sales mainstay, and its exit has put Luxgen's outlook back in the spotlight.

According to the report, the U6 Turbo was first shown in November 2013. It sold 2,237 units in January 2014, topping the domestic SUV and commercial-vehicle chart ahead of the Toyota Wish and Honda CR-V, reached 10,429 units for 2014, and at one point exceeded 2,200 units in a month.
Luxgen followed with the U6 Turbo Eco Hyper in 2015 and the U6 GT and GT220 in 2017, the latter making 222 horsepower. In 2023 the model was refreshed as the U6 Neo with a 1.8-liter turbo engine rated at 202 horsepower.
The United Daily News argued that the U6 never received a full redesign, rivals kept launching newer generations, and the U6 lacked mainstream active driver-assistance features, so sales slid year after year.
What happens to the brand
In December 2025 parent group Yulon agreed to transfer 100% of Luxgen to Foxtron for NT$787.6 million. The paper said Luxgen will not launch new Luxgen-branded cars, with future products and sales handled by Foxtron. Luxgen's website now lists only two models, the n7 electric SUV and the URX Neo gasoline SUV.
