Samsung Lions edged the KT Wiz 3-2 in 12 innings in Game 2 of the Korean Series in Suwon on the 4th, tying the series at one win each. The Kyunghyang Shinmun said a pitchers' duel was ultimately decided by errors.
According to the Kyunghyang Shinmun, Samsung won Game 2 of the 2026 KBO Korean Series 3-2 after 12 innings at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on the 4th. KT had taken Game 1, so the win levels the series, and Game 3 will be played on the 6th at Samsung's home park in Daegu.
광고 문의 · 300×250The starters matched each other. The Kyunghyang reported that KT's Ko Young-pyo and Samsung's Chris Fedek (as the name is rendered in Korean) each went seven innings and allowed one run. The Chosun Ilbo noted that Fedek threw 295 pitches over ten days and, on just four days of rest, still delivered seven innings of one-run ball.
An all-hands bullpen duel
From the eighth inning both managers turned to their most trusted relievers. KT used Son Dong-hyeon in the eighth and brought in closer Park Young-hyun, who had a 1 2/3-inning save in Game 1, early to escape a first-and-second jam; Park also stopped a one-out, runner-on-second threat in the ninth.
Samsung sent out lefty Lee Seung-min in the ninth, then turned to Won Tae-in after Hur Kyung-min doubled with one out. The Kyunghyang noted that Won is a possible Game 4 starter. In the 10th, Lewin Diaz's single to right with the bases loaded and one out put Samsung ahead again, but KT's Kim Hyun-soo drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 2-2.
The decisive 12th-inning defense
The key moment came in the 12th. According to the Kyunghyang, with one out and runners on first and second, Lee Jae-hyeon hit a grounder back to the mound; KT second baseman Oh Yoon-seok's throw to first bounced wide, first baseman Kim Hyun-soo could not hold it, and Diaz scored from third. Samsung then brought in Bae Chan-seung to protect the one-run lead.
Diaz went 4-for-6 and led the offense, but he also dropped a throw in the 10th for an error. The Chosun Ilbo reported that after the game he bowed at 90 degrees, saying in effect that he hoped his teammates would not have to feel that burden. With errors affecting both sides, defensive focus could be a swing factor in Game 3.
