What the official record covers
Her state posts were listed as vice chair of the 10th National Committee of the CPPCC, state councilor and vice premier of the State Council. The reports we reviewed cover the cremation, the farewell ceremony and a short list of senior posts; further career details and specifics of her illness were not confirmed.
In China, it is long-standing practice for Xinhua to report a senior figure's obituary and cremation in sequence, with the top leadership attending in person. This report followed that format, and we have limited this article to officially announced facts.
