Calligraphy in Chinese-heritage schools

Calligraphy has long been kept in the curriculum at these schools. Taught alongside character study, it carries both a literacy and an artistic function.

Entering local competitions also gives students experience of assessment standards outside their own school.

Contact with the wider community

Participation in local competitions creates points of contact between the school and the surrounding community — particularly in fields like calligraphy where the language barrier is low.

Exchange events between Chinese-heritage and local schools have continued in the Busan area.

Alongside the new term

The school had earlier posted its notice for the start of the first semester of the 115th academic year and an announcement about an autumn trip. Early-term events are running in sequence.
