Overall scale and figures
Chinese media report 1.55 million square metres of exhibition space, about 75,000 booths and 32,000 exhibiting companies (Xinhua’s wording is ‘more than 30,000’), with about 4.88 million products and over 11,000 specialised, refined and innovative or single-product champion firms. Organisers say new products make up 23.2% and green products 26%, both record highs.
On buyers, Xinhua reported that 189,000 overseas buyers from 214 countries and regions had attended phase one by 19 October, up 13.3% from the same point last time. Its opening-day report said about 340,000 overseas buyers had been drawn, but whether that is a count at opening or pre-registration scale is unconfirmed. Phase-three-only company and booth counts, buyer numbers and deal values were not disclosed in the reports checked.
