명절 인사와 휴무 안내

단배는 화교 사회에서 설을 맞아 모여 새해 인사를 나누는 전통 모임이다. 2026년 설날은 2월 17일이었고, 협회의 안내는 설 보름 가까이 앞서 올라온 셈이다. 회원들이 일정을 비워 둘 수 있도록 미리 알리는 성격이 강하다.

Holiday greetings and closure notice

A group greeting, or tuanbai, is a traditional gathering at which the Chinese community exchanges New Year wishes. Lunar New Year 2026 fell on February 17, so the notice came about two weeks ahead, mainly so members could keep their schedules free.

The April 3 closure notice was posted on April 2, the day before. When the office is closed, advance notice spares members who come for passport or notarization matters a wasted trip. With only a day's warning, some members probably had to check in a hurry.

The association also posted a May 27 notice of coming passport and notarization fee increases, a June 8 notice of a temporary closure of its right-side entrance, and a July 8 notice of free shingles vaccination for foreigners aged 60 and over. The run of notices shows the board carries administrative matters, events, health and civil-service information in one place.

Members should make a habit of checking the latest notices before visiting. Date-specific notices such as greetings or closures lose their value once the date passes, so contacting the association directly is also advisable.
