광고 문의 · 300×250Permanent residency carries no limit on the period of stay, but the residence card corresponding to an alien registration card must be renewed every ten years, and failure to do so can result in a fine.
Applications should be made before the card expires, either in person at an immigration office or through the online services system.
Required documents include an application form, a photograph and the existing card. Where an address has changed, it is advisable to confirm that the change was reported.
The association noted that older members sometimes miss the expiry date, and suggested that family members keep track of it as well.
A considerable number of Sinophone residents in Korea have lived here long term on permanent residency, and as generations succeed one another, status types increasingly differ within a single family.
